HONOLULU — The Kahala Hotel & Resort announced the official opening of The Kahala Hotel & Resort Yokohama on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. This is the first “Kahala” branded hotel outside of Hawaii, ushering a new era of Kahala aloha and hospitality in Japan.
Furthering The Kahala’s reputation for luxury accommodations, the 146-room hotel welcomes guests with a range of amenities and relaxing spaces including an indoor bath spa, grand ballroom for conferences and banquets, five-room salon, 20-meter heated pool and training gym, a spacious lounge, and Italian and Japanese dining. The Yokohama property also weaves in elements of Hawaiian design and Kahala symbols throughout the hotel’s interior.
Situated on the Minato Mirai waterfront of Yokohama, The Kahala Yokohama offers panoramic views of the district and is located approximately 30 minutes by car from Haneda International Airport.
“Since 1881, when the city of Yokohama first welcomed King David Kalākaua and his entourage from Hawaii, our two cultures have forged a common bond in hospitality,” said Joe Ibarra, general manager of The Kahala Hotel & Resort. “We are excited and proud to welcome The Kahala Yokohama to the family and know that the spirit of Hawaiian ho’okipa will translate well to Japanese omotenashi.”
The Kahala Hotel & Resort in Hawaii and the new hotel in Yokohama are owned by ResortTrust, who purchased the Hawaii property in 2014. For more information or for reservations for The Kahala Yokohama visit https://thekahala.jp/en/yokohama/.
