DENVER – September 12, 2023 – The Magnolia Denver proudly announces the addition of two new leaders joining the ranks of the acclaimed Tribute Portfolio Hotel. James Ancona has been appointed as the new General Manager and Genevieve Belou will serve as Director of Sales and Marketing for the property. Both are long-time industry veterans with experience working with top hotel brands across the country.

The downtown area is rebounding and thanks to our great sports teams, entertainment options, food and culture the hotel is thriving, ” said André Fournier Chief Commercial Officer for Coraltree Hospitality. “We could not be more thrilled with the level of experience they both bring to their role, and the guest experience will greatly benefit from their industry knowledge and wealth of leadership skills.”
Ancona brings more than two decades of experience in the hotel industry, and has held positions in every area of hospitality from front desk to sales to housekeeping manager. He was most recently the General Manager for the Hyatt House/Hyatt Place in Downtown Denver where he was named “General Manager of the Year” in 2022 by White Lodging. In his new role, Ancona will oversee all aspects of the hotel, emphasizing an elevated guest experience and bringing his passion for service to the role.

Genevieve Belou is also a long-time hotel industry veteran with over 10 years of experience in sales and marketing for boutique properties. She will serve as the new Director of Sales for the Magnolia Denver and was most recently the Assistant Director of Sales for the property. Prior to that, she has worked in sales for the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection, in Point Clear, Alabama, and Hotel Boulderado, in Boulder, Colorado. In addition to her work, she has been active in the meetings and events community and has served on the Board of Directors for Meeting Professionals International’s Rocky Mountain Chapter(MPIRMC) since 2020. She recently won the Rising Star Award for Smart Meetings Magazine’s Smart Women in Meetings and was the recipient of the MPIRMC’s Rising Star Award in 2019 and President’s Award of Excellence in 2021 and 2022.
