Milwaukee, Wis., March 13, 2015. . . . .The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS) today announced Jeffrey R. Peterson has been promoted to senior director of finance and transaction administration. Peterson previously served as vice president of operations for Marcus Hotels & Resorts.
In his new role, Peterson will report directly to The Marcus Corporation’s Chief Financial Officer, Douglas A. Neis, and will oversee a wide range of finance and strategic initiative responsibilities, including providing support for MCS Capital, the company’s hotel investment affiliate. He will also serve as a lead member of Marcus Hotels & Resorts’ development team, assisting in underwriting, negotiating, structuring and financing for joint venture agreements and management agreements.
“Jeff’s tremendous background with our company and his varied skill-set make him ideally suited for this new opportunity. His excellent analytical skills, strong background in accounting and finance and deep understanding of both our organization and the hotel industry will be an asset in this new corporate position,” said Neis.
Peterson joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts in 2013 with 18 years of hospitality industry experience in a variety of roles at Hyatt Hotels Corporation. He joined Hyatt in 1991 as director of finance and most recently served as vice president, corporate transactions/global asset management, where he was responsible for asset management and execution of financial transactions involving Hyatt’s existing hotel real estate assets, joint ventures and management agreements. Peterson also served as chief financial officer of Ticketmaster Resale, a division of Ticketmaster/Live Nation, the second largest company in the online resale ticket industry.
Peterson, a CPA, began his career in public accounting at the international accounting firm, KPMG. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
