KEY WEST, FL — October 2017 — The Perry Hotel Key West at Stock Island Marina has announced the appointment of Troy Talpas as General Manager and Adelheid Salas as Assistant General Manager. The duo will oversee operations of the new 100-room boutique hotel, which opened its doors in May on the private, 220-slip Stock Island Marina.
In his new role as general manager of the upscale, full-service hotel, Talpas will be responsible for all departments with duties that include managing daily operations, staff development, budgeting and financial planning, increasing sales and revenue, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Talpas brings more than two decades of experience in both hotel and food & beverage operations to The Perry, which has seen immense success since the property welcomed its first guests earlier this year. Most recently, Talpas was Resort Manager at Little Palm Island Resort and Spa in Little Torch Key, Florida, where he was responsible for all shore-side and island operations, managing staff development, and improving overall profitability. Prior to this, he was General Manager of Restaurants at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida, a high-volume convention property. Here, Talpas successfully developed and opened new concepts, modernizing the hotel’s F&B to align with Marriott and Gaylord brand standards.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the talented team at The Perry Hotel Key West,” said Talpas. “In the short time since the property has opened, I’ve watched The Perry quickly make a name for itself as a staple in the Key West community. It’s really exciting to be a part of that. I’m looking forward to leading the team as we launch new initiatives and programs to offer our guests a truly authentic Stock Island experience.”
Salas brings an unparalleled knowledge of the market to her new role as The Perry’s assistant general manager, having worked with hotel brands and individual properties across the state of Florida for more than a decade. After working in operations and management at the Southernmost Hotel Collection in Key West, Florida, Salas went on to become General Manager of The Marker Waterfront Resort in downtown Key West. She was most recently General Manager of The Castillo Real Resort Hotel in Saint Augustine, where she managed operations for the 60-room boutique hotel, increased group sales, and led staff development.
“I’m no stranger to Key West, but I’ve never experienced a hotel quite like The Perry,” said Salas. This property offers a sophisticated, modern feel with the same warmth and hospitality that keeps visitors coming back to the area year after year. I’m excited to be part of this innovative team and to work with our local community to showcase the best that Key West and Stock Island have to offer.”
