EL PASO, TX. – November 2, 2021 – The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, a storied Independent Collection ® Hotels & Resorts property located in the core of downtown El Paso, today announced seasoned hospitality expert Adrian Gonzalez as its new general manager. Gonzalez takes the helm, bringing more than 15 years of luxury hotel, culinary and beverage leadership experience, as the team embarks on the renowned Forbes hospitality training to ensure ultimate guest satisfaction at the iconic hotel. With his team, Gonzalez will continue to elevate the guest experience and introduce programming that celebrates the rich culture of this iconic property.

A native of Mexico City, Gonzalez earned a bachelor’s degree at the city’s Tourism Polytechnic University as well as an associate’s degree in education from the neighboring National School of Education. He began his hospitality career in 1991 opening the Conrad Hilton Resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He transitioned to the Pacific Northwest, where he worked at properties including Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. and Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Wash. He then joined the Omni Hotels & Resorts family on the east coast before spending time at luxury resorts in Monterey, Calif., Chicago and Napa, Calif., where he was focused on providing an outstanding guest experience, budget management and increasing profitability for guest rooms and food and beverage programming. He also has luxury brand experience with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels & Resorts which translates into his role with the Independent Collection portfolio.
