Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos – January 8, 2024 – The Somerset on Grace Bay an intimate five-star resort located on almost five acres of private beach, has announced the appointment of Beverly Howell as General Manager.

Beverly brings more than 20 years of experience to her role at The Somerset on Grace Bay through decades of work in the Turks and Caicos tourism industry. Previously, she served as the General Manager of Point Grace Resort for 13 years. Beverly also held the position of General Manager for the opening of Le Vele Resort in 2004, as well as for the opening of The Regent Grand Resort in 2008.

Beverly has maximized yield for both owners and guests through effective property management; liaised with travel agents, tour operators and guests; organized and overseen special events; overseen sales and marketing; assisted in the development and management of Strata Corporation/Homeowners’ Associations; and assisted in the stabilization and growth of a resort during a difficult economic period in the country’s history.

In addition to her prominent roles at resorts in Turks and Caicos, Beverly also served as a director for the Turks & Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association from 2005 to 2013, as well as a director for the National Health Insurance Board from 2009 to 2013. She is a professional member of the Institute of Hospitality, the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality, and the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute—for which she holds the designation of Certified Hotel Administrator.

Always eager to learn more, Beverly most recently expanded her knowledge to include a Certificate in Real Estate Law to accompany Diplomas in both Property Management and Hotel & Restaurant Management.

“Beverly’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the local tourism industry makes her an important asset to our team,” says Mr. Joseph Haviv, Owner. “We are thrilled to have her with us here at The Somerset on Grace Bay and are looking forward to this exciting chapter ahead.”
