GALVESTON, TX – October 21, 2022 – The Tremont House, Galveston, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, in downtown Galveston, Texas, has completed its renovation, transforming all areas of the historic property. The updates include redesigns to all 135 guest rooms and suites, lobby and public spaces, meeting and event spaces, and food and beverage outlets. The property will officially rebrand on Tuesday, November 1, as part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Tribute Portfolio.
Rooms and Suites
All guestrooms, including 27 suites, unveil their fresh updates with traditional designs, including hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and 14-16-foot ceilings. Penthouse units in The Quarters range from one-bedroom lofts to two-bedroom suites and are fully furnished, providing ideal accommodations for weekend getaways or longer stays. Guest rooms have upgraded amenities like Keurig coffee makers, 55-inch HDTVs with streaming services, in-room refreshment centers with mini-fridges, wine selections for purchase, and bath amenities provided by NEST.
Four historic suites in the hotel’s original Belmont wing are included in the refresh and will reopen as the “Mitchell Collection.” This collection of suites pays homage to the rich history of the Mitchell family in Galveston and features pressed tin ceilings, original hardwood floors, large living areas, and the option to connect the suites. The Mitchell Collection is located on a private floor of the hotel and has shared social space with a private bar, perfect for large social gatherings.
The hotel is embracing eco-friendly practices by offering guests wooden room key cards, refillable water bottles at hydration and ice stations on each floor, and eco-friendly products throughout the food and beverage program.

Set to open in winter 2023, a redesigned rooftop bar and lounge will feature 360-degree views of Galveston Island through glass sliding nano walls. The fully air-conditioned space offers gorgeous natural light with breathtaking views that can be enclosed from the elements for year-long use.
Guests and locals will appreciate the lobby’s new urban market and bistro concept, Blum & Co., with authentic food and beverage offerings, including Galveston’s own Red Light Coffee Roasters blends and grab n’ go options. In the evenings, the lobby will transform with music from local musicians as guests enjoy local craft beer, wine, and prohibition-themed cocktails at the historic 1872 Toujouse bar from the Galveston Historical Foundation.
