SAN ANTONIO – June 22, 2023 – Situated in the most visited city in Texas alongside the iconic River Walk, The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio proudly announces the completion of a refresh that enhanced many areas of the hotel. Beginning a new chapter in its 24-year heritage, the elevated revamp includes development to its guest rooms and corridors, a full renovation of the Business Center, public restrooms and fitness center, as well as a full restoration for the on-site restaurant and bar, ZoccaCuisine D’Italia. Providing a tranquil yet elite hospitality experience, the eight-month transformation is an eclectic mix, blending traditional design and contemporary-inspired elements together.
“We’re beyond thrilled to see our vision come to life,” said Maria Martinez, General Manager of The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio. “Knowing the exceptional level of service we already provide, this was the natural next step to elevate the total guest experience. We didn’t want to lose the existing charm people have come to know and love, so we built upon our authentic riverfront locale and delivered certain luxuries to mirror the premium status of the hotel, leaving guests feeling refreshed and inspired while still paying homage to San Antonio’s culture.”
Leading the visionary charge, Dallas-based interior design firm, Waldrop + Nichols, created a design paying tribute to the rich legacy all its’ own, with a warm inviting residential feel and quality. The interior architecture and design are elegant, sophisticated and elevated, yet extremely approachable. The new Business Center, just off from the lobby is a stunning focal point with flexible seating options to accommodate both individual, as well as small group needs. The dichotomy of the lobby and the collaborative workspace ensures balance with complimenting tones of elaborate blue indigo and wood lacquer finishes blending seamlessly together for an overall heterogenous feel. The guest room restoration includes bathroom enhancements for certain room types which have been upgraded with walk in showers using natural stone accents, as well as the Westin heavenly shower package for all guest rooms. Upgraded elevators and guest room floor corridors reference Spanish medallions providing inspiration for the new axminister carpet design woven in rich colors of clay and sand. The revitalized WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio aligns with the Westin brand design guests have come to know and expect to maximize travel workouts, including custom millwork features.
The center of attention lies at Zocca Cuisine D’Italia, the on-site restaurant and bar that serves up Italian-inspired dishes with a Texas twist. Zocca’s new interiors are both eye-catching and open-concept inclusive of a lounge area perfect for nightlife vibes, contemporary tables and chairs, cozy walled-in booths, cushioned banquette seating areas, and a vino-inspired private dining room.
