PHOENIX (Jan. 9, 2015) – The Wigwam, an iconic AAA Four-Diamond Arizona resort designated as a “Historic Hotel of America,” is proud to announce the addition of two new hires to its sales and marketing team. Bob Nee joins the team as vice president of resort sales and marketing and Maureen Holden will serve as director of marketing. Nee and Holden both bring many successful years of experience in hospitality and are leading the charge at the Arizona landmark, which recently celebrated its 85th anniversary.
At The Wigwam, Nee is responsible for total revenue and yield strategies, implementation and results including group, transient, catering and overseeing all internal and external communications. Nee is also responsible for maximizing revenue and profitability for the resort, and working with the external marketing teams on advertising and public relations efforts. Throughout his career, Nee has led sales teams at notable luxury properties including Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park, Marriott’s Seaview Resort and Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites. His experience includes overall responsibility for group, leisure, catering, conference services and revenue management teams. Prior to joining The Wigwam, Nee was responsible for driving the top line revenue initiatives for 12 hotels within the TPG Hospitality portfolio located throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Regions.
As director of marketing, Holden will be responsible for creating and implementing annual marketing plans as well as overseeing all advertising, direct mail, social media, eCommerce, branding, public relations and web-based initiatives for the resort. Holden has led marketing teams in both operations and corporate levels for some of the most profitable and innovative casino resorts in the industry. Prior to joining The Wigwam, Holden served as the director of marketing at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
