EDGARTOWN, Mass. (May 2, 2019) – Winnetu Oceanside Resort, Martha’s Vineyard’s premier seasonal getaway, announces today the appointment of Matthew Moore as General Manager for the property’s 2019 season reopening.
“We are thrilled for Matt to join our team and are confident that his leadership abilities come at the perfect moment as the resort has undergone a multi-year refresh and renovation,” said Winnetu Oceanside Resort co-owner, Gwenn Snider. “Matt’s enthusiasm for hospitality and management capabilities are sure to add to the cherished Winnetu guest experience.”
With more than 25 years of diversified experience in hotel and resort operations in the New England area, the appointment of Moore as General Manager comes at an important time for the Winnetu. The resort has completed a series of property enhancements including a new pool and hot tub complex, renovations of all 58 suites, and the construction of a new multipurpose Pavilion. This three-story shingle style addition houses the concierge staff, a gathering space with a custom pool table, massage treatment rooms and a lounge. The Pavilion building will be the resort’s hub, located in the courtyard that is home to the iconic life-size chess set.
To coincide with the seasonal reopening, Moore will be responsible for all resort operations, leading the way for hotel staff to delight guests with hospitality and oceanside charm. A seasoned expert, originally from New York City, Moore’s management experience includes some of Boston’s finest hotels including The Four Seasons, XV Beacon Hotel, and The Seaport Hotel. Most recently he has served as the General Manager for the AC Hotel Boston Downtown.
Moore comments that, “I am excited for the opportunity to join a seasoned, dedicated and passionate team at the Winnetu as they continue their journey in providing world class accommodations and attentive, thoughtful…yet unpretentious service to our guests. I also very much look forward to integrating myself into the community and
becoming part of the fabric that makes Martha's Vineyard such a magical destination for all who visit and live on Island."
