Overland Park, Kan. – July 8, 2015 – True North Hotel Group has begun construction on a dual-branded Marriott project – a 91-suite Residence Inn and a 75-suite SpringHill Suites – in Fishkill, NY. Slated to open in the summer of 2016, the properties are located in the Westage Business Center along I-84 in Dutchess County.
The two hotels will share a general manager, sales department and adjoining lobbies with an intersecting bar and communal area. The properties will also share a swimming pool, fitness center, and meeting space to accommodate smaller meetings and events. Each brand will offer its complimentary signature daily healthy-choice breakfast.
Cost of the project is approximately $28 million. The combined hotels will create 50 to 75 new jobs for the community. True North Hotel Group owns and will manage the hotel.
“The Fishkill area’s robust balance of business travel and tourism are a fantastic match with the location and choices that the new SpringHill Suites and Residence Inn bring,” said Brad Wiens, executive vice president and chief development officer for True North Hotel Group. “The side-by-side hotels will accommodate all kinds of travelers, whether they’re in the Hudson Valley to work, recharge, relax or relocate.”
Wiens identified three main business generators for the hotels: weekday stays dominated by corporate travel; weekend and weekday social tourism stemming from sports events, weddings, and bus tours; and long-term stays, primarily at the Residence Inn, for relocations, training and special projects. The hotels will also serve travelers visiting West Point, Vassar, seasonal festivals and the area’s many culinary and visual arts attractions.
Both Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites participate in the award-winning Marriott Rewards® frequent travel program that allows members to earn hotel points or airline miles for every dollar spent during each stay.
