WASHINGTON – The U.S. Travel Association announced today that Joshua P. Friedlander will join the organization as vice president of research, a critical role that will further strengthen the association’s research and analysis capabilities. He will begin with the association on January 16.
“In our work to prove the indispensable contributions of travel, Josh will provide the market insights that our industry and our many constituents need to inform their understanding and decision-making,” said Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association. “Josh’s deep background in research analysis will give a boost to our industry, and we look forward to welcoming him to the team and introducing him to the travel community.”
Friedlander joins U.S. Travel from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in Washington, DC, where he served as senior vice president of research and economics. At RIAA, he held responsibility for data analysis and market research. The results of his work were frequently used as standard measures of the U.S. music industry. Prior to his work at RIAA, Friedlander worked in equity research at Prudential Securities.
“I am very excited to join the team at U.S. Travel as we tell the story of travel’s essential economic contributions through compelling research and analysis,” said Josh Friedlander. “Travel touches practically every part of the economy, and we will deliver research and data that informs and communicates the strength of this industry nationwide.”
He holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
