August 28, 2023 (Palo Alto, CA) – Hotel Citrine and AC Palo Alto announce Vi Nguyen, CMP as Campus Director of Sales and Marketing for the dual-branded property in the heart of Palo Alto. The campus-style development features more than 4,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meetings and events space, multiple food and beverage concepts including Wild Onion Bistro & Bar in addition to nearly 300 guestrooms. The destination is managed by California-based Evolution Hospitality.
Raised in the San Jose area, Nguyen was actively involved in various organizations throughout her school years, thriving off of collaborating with her peers, organizing events and leading the student body. These interests proved pivotal as she set her sights on a career in hospitality, enrolling in the Hospitality Management program at San Jose State University. She accepted a Manager in Training position right out of college at the historic Hayes Mansion San Jose, an award-winning Silicon Valley hotel, later becoming the property’s Conferences Services Manager.
After spending seven years working in the conference space, Nguyen transitioned into sales for Hayes Mansion before transitioning to Radiate Hospitality where she worked in various sales leader positions and later with Crescent Hotels and Resorts.
The opportunity to join the Evolution Hospitality team and be part of a campus-style hotel destination was very appealing to Nguyen. “The campus-experience here is very representative of Palo Alto – the AC Hotel reflects the business side of Silicon Valley and Hotel Citrine brings together the local culture, food, music and activities of the surrounding area,” says Nguyen. “I instantly fell for the energy and the vibe – not just the campus, but across the entire team. In addition to nearly two decades of hospitality experience, Nguyen is an active member of Silicon Valley Business Travel Association (SVBTA) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
