MIAMI, Sept. 22, 2017 — Virgin Hotels, the lifestyle hotel brand by Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson, marks a new milestone as Virgin Hotels breaks ground with The Buccini/Pollin Group and BPGS Construction on Virgin Hotels Nashville. The groundbreaking ceremony, held on location on Wednesday, September 20, marks Virgin Hotels' fourth property currently under construction, behind Virgin Hotels New York City, Virgin Hotels Dallas and Virgin Hotels New Orleans. Virgin Hotels Nashville will open its doors in 2019.
Located in the historic Music Row area of the city at 1 Music Square W, Virgin Hotels Nashville will deliver a one-of-a-kind hotel experience. The hotel will feature 240 Chambers, including Grand Chamber Suites, and multiple dining and drinking outlets such as the brand's signature Commons Club, a rooftop and pool, and – fitting for Music City – a speakeasy.
"We are so excited to be bringing Virgin Hotels to the thriving city of Nashville," said Raul Leal, CEO of Virgin Hotels. "The spirit of this city is absolutely electric – from the music, to the cuisine, to the culture. We are fortunate to be a small part what makes Music City such a popular destination among travelers. We can't wait to welcome guests here."
To commemorate the groundbreaking, Virgin Hotels, in conjunction with The Buccini/Pollin Group, hosted key members of each group as well as city officials in Nashville for an intimate groundbreaking ceremony. During the event, members of the Virgin Hotels development team took the first shovels to the ground at the future hotel site. Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Hotels CEO Raul Leal hit the stage for remarks, followed by a cocktail reception to toast the latest venture at the historic RCA Studio A. The star-studded reception featured live entertainment by country music singer/songwriter Charlie Worsham; other guests included, recording artist John Prine, musician Chris Isaak, singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert with Anderson East, country singer Kenny Chesney and many more.
Virgin Hotels Nashville will be a new build located in the heart of Nashville at the corner of Division Street and Music Square W. The hotel will be in smashing good company as the neighborhood boasts some of the most famous recording studios in music history, shops, restaurants and other attractions.
The brand's first hotel, Virgin Hotels Chicago, is now open and accepting reservations at www.virginhotels.com, with San Francisco, Dallas, Palm Springs and New York slated to open next. Virgin Hotels continues to explore properties in cities such as Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Seattle, Washington DC, and London; locations where it is pursuing hotel and office conversions and ground-up development.
