Experienced hotel technology executive, James Fothergill, to bring Volara’s Voice-Based Engagement Solutions to the UK, France, Spain, and the Nordics
NEW YORK — July 21, 2021 — In response to increased interest in its voice-based engagement solutions from hoteliers across Europe, Volara is expanding its team. James Fothergill joins the enterprise grade voice assistant solutions provider as Vice President of Sales with a strategic focus on expansion of Volara’s portfolio of clients in key European Markets. He brings to Volara more than 15 years of experience developing mutually beneficial commercial relationships with his own signature flair. James has a deep understanding of hotel economics and how to align interests with his clients.
“We are seeing unprecedented interest in our voice-based guest engagement solutions from hoteliers across Europe,” said Volara CEO David Berger. “I’m proud of our technology, but great technology companies succeed because of great people. James is an industry veteran who has built the trust of leading hoteliers over a stellar 15-year career. He understands the needs of hoteliers and I am excited to see what he’s able to accomplish in the client-first culture at Volara.”
Prior to joining Volara, Fothergill held senior sales leadership positions with Hudini, SuitePad and Intelity where he was responsible for designing and executing sales strategies to support rapid growth into new and existing markets around the world. Fothergill is also a regular contributor at industry conferences and events with organizations such as HFTP and HTNG. He is passionate about helping hoteliers leverage technology to provide a clear differentiator and an enhanced guest experience.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Volara,” Fothergill said. “Hoteliers are seeking out voice-based guest engagement solutions to enable them to support their guests safely and efficiently. And as guests continue to ask Siri or Google or Alexa to make calls, play music, watch shows and more while at home, they are expecting this voice-on-command experience to extend to their hotel rooms. Given its success protecting guest privacy and proprietary hotel data, along with its capacity for enabling guests to get what they want when they want it simply by speaking in their guest room, Volara has become the most secure and highly coveted contactless guest-engagement solution on the market. It’s for these reasons that I eagerly joined Dave Berger and the team.”
With a process-driven personal approach to client development, Fothergill will lead Volara’s efforts to bring the value of its solution to hotels across Europe and around the world. In James’ spare time he enjoys fishing and supporting his beloved Manchester United FC.
