Chantilly Hotel Unveils Renovated Conference Dining Room, Guest Rooms and Restaurant

CHANTILLY, VA – (November 2013) Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles has unveiled extensive renovations and new technology that transform the Chantilly hotel into an attractive, convenient destination for business meetings, weddings and individual travelers.

New guest rooms designed for meeting attendees, a restyled conference dining room, new restaurant and soon-to-be-completed updated fitness center empower a modern blend of business and pleasure thanks to a significant investment by owner Host Hotels & Resorts. Mobile-friendly apps ease scheduling and implementation of meetings and streamline guest check-in.

“We want to make business and social events easy to plan, productive to run and enjoyable to attend at our Virginia conference center. Our changes increase flexibility and accessibility and amplify the charm and sophistication of the hotel’s overall aesthetic,” says Scott McClinton, general manager of the Westfields Marriott.

The food and beverage outlets at the hotel in Chantilly, VA, take center stage in the renovation. Guests can meet, mix, relax and savor at Wellington’s, a stylish and welcoming public house. The restaurant pays homage to its namesake, “Iron Duke,” with a dining experience that is rooted in history and modern in vitality. Wall coverings that feature the famous Duke’s letters to generals during the Napoleonic Wars are a highlight of décor conceived by Parker Torres Design of Sudbury, Mass. Executive Chef Todd Schofield created a menu of locally influenced share plates and hearty entrées coupled with craft beers on tap and regional wines and spirits. Newly decorated Palm Court offers daily breakfast and a popular Sunday brunch in a club-like atmosphere and serves as a dedicated private dining room located adjacent to third-floor function space at the conference center in Virginia.

Twenty new third-floor “business boost” guest rooms offer easy access to the private dining room and function space as well as premium amenities including 47-inch HDTVs and refrigerators stocked with bottled water. Innovative in-drawer safes have been installed in guest rooms throughout the Chantilly hotel. A soon-to-be-completed renovation of the fitness center adds advanced exercise equipment, Internet access and new flooring.

New Marriott Hotels and Resorts technology is designed for guests who embrace the mobile lifestyle for work as well as leisure. Apps include:

  • Red Coat Direct (www.redcoatdirect.marriott.com), a first-of-its-kind app that lets organizers adjust and edit their meeting requests and preferences with a touch of a button and without ever leaving the room.
  • Workspace On Demand (www.workspaceondemand.marriott.com) powered by Liquidspace, which allows guests to book free and paid meeting spaces as easily as they book a guest room.
  • Mobile Check-In (www.marriott.com/marriott/mobile-apps.mi), which provides an enhanced arrival experience with check-in up to two hours before arrival and automatic notifications when a room is ready.
