WICHITA, Kan.–July 10, 2015–WoodSpring Suites, the nation’s fastest growing value segment extended-stay hotel brand, has entered into an agreement with one of Charleston, South Carolina’s premier real estate development companies, Jupiter Holdings, to build two new hotels in the Charleston market.
“Charleston is an excellent market for our brand as proven by the strong performance of the three hotels we already have in the market,” said Ron Burgett, Executive Vice President of Development. “There is a strong demand for extended stay lodging in the Charleston market and our brand, with its unwavering commitment to the highest standards of cleanliness and consistency at a reasonable price, has proven to be extremely successful.”
The first location to be built will be Summerville, South Carolina and the second location will be built in the West Ashley area of Charleston, directly on Savannah Highway.
“Summerville is going to be a great market for us,” said Burgett. “The market was growing at a fast pace even before Volvo decided to build its first North American factory in Berkeley county. But this $500 million dollar project is going to turbo-charge growth in the area and our WoodSpring Suites location will be perfectly positioned to capitalize on it.”
“Charleston continues to be one of the best markets in the Southeastern United States from both a business and tourism perspective,” adds Burgett. “As the city continues to grow, this new location on one of the main arteries into downtown Charleston should thrive.”
Both hotels will be managed by TrueBlue Hospitality, an award winning hospitality management company led by veteran hotelier, David Kalik.

WoodSpring Suites, which had a record growth year in 2014, is focused on strategic expansion across the U.S. through corporate- and franchise-owned development. The company expects to break ground on 30 additional properties by the end of the year. Expansion plans through 2017 include the addition of corporate and franchised properties in major metropolitan markets such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Miami and Minneapolis.
