Phoenix, Arizona (December 11, 2020) – WorldHotels announced today that Melissa Brown has been appointed as Regional Director of Hotel Development in North America. Brown will oversee development efforts in North America with a focus on WorldHotels’ newly launched “Crafted Collection” and the iconic WorldHotels “Luxury Collection”.
Brown is joining a seasoned team of experts at WorldHotels, which has grown and expanded its senior leadership team in recent years, welcoming veteran luxury and hospitality experts in Europe, Asia, and North America. Since joining forces with BWH Hotel Group in 2019, WorldHotels has celebrated a number of exciting achievements, including the launch of WorldHotels RewardsSM, the world’s 3rd largest hotel loyalty program with over 42 million guests; the launch of WorldHotels Crafted Collection; the introduction of the WorldLuxury Affinity Program; and a strategic partnership with Forbes Travel Guide.
“We are excited to welcome Melissa to the WorldHotels team and we are confident the skills and expertise she brings will help us expand our footprint in North America,” said Gregory Habeeb, President of WorldHotels North America. “Melissa is joining us at a special moment in our brand’s history as this year we are commemorating our 50th anniversary. We are proud of the rich and diverse collection of hotels that has defined our brand for decades, and we look forward to welcoming many more exceptional properties to WorldHotels in the future.”
WorldHotels Crafted Collection is an inclusive collection that, through design and creativity, captures the spirit of the destination and creates a lasting emotional connection. WorldHotels Crafted member hotels not only transform their physical environments, but also the communities within which they thrive; they curate, reflect and amplify all that is unique about their location. No two hotels are alike, each and every one is coveted. WorldHotels Luxury Collection hotels are iconic in nature. These hotels are recognized local landmarks in their coveted destinations for their exceptional service, superior accommodations, and refined amenities. The Luxury Collection’s partnership with Forbes Travel Guide provides not only a premium seal of approval but an array of opportunities.
Brown will also be looking at small independent hotels groups that want to boost their brand with the domestic and global power of WorldHotels. In conjunction with BWH Hotel Group, WorldHotels offers one of the most comprehensive toolboxes for an independent hotel, resort, or hotel group.
“We have seen independent hotels now looking to ensure their success once we emerge from behind the COVID curtain,” adds Habeeb. “But they first need the tools, market reach and the relationships. Hotels are looking for companies like WorldHotels with over 50 years’ experience in sales, marketing, technology, preferred partnerships and the ability to drive revenue from markets that hotels simply cannot reach on their own.”
Brown is well-positioned to lead WorldHotels and its hoteliers towards further successes in 2021 with her extensive hospitality experience and deep luxury knowledge. Most recently, Brown spearheaded hotel development for Luxe Hotels in North America where she led luxury and lifestyle sales, marketing, brand development and distribution for the brand. Brown has also held positions with Starwood Hotels and Resort’ brands W Hotels and St. Regis Hotels, and has worked at properties such as Paramount New York, Park Hyatt, Hotel Nikko, and Trump Hotels. A San Diego State University graduate, Brown is also a member of MPI, GBTA, and HSMAI.
