12 JUNE 2023, SINGAPORE, TOKYO – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (“Wyndham”), the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,100 hotels spanning more than 95 countries, has today announced the opening of Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki. The 235-key hotel is the first Ramada Encore by Wyndham hotel in Japan, and the first international hotel brand within Amagasaki. Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki is the second hotel Wyndham manages with Wyndham Destinations Japan.

In April of this year, visitors to Japan rose to a post-pandemic high of almost 2 million, attributed to a relaxation of travel restrictions in China, according to the Japan National Tourism Organisation. The number of foreign visitors for business and leisure climbed to 1.95 million last month from 1.82 million in March, signaling an opportune time for the opening of Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki.

“As the first Ramada Encore by Wyndham hotel in Japan, this opening demonstrates the long-term potential we see in the market and underlines our commitment to make hotel travel possible for all by introducing new brands to Asia Pacific. As travellers continue to seek out refreshing experiences in new cities, our growing presence in the country will enable us to warmly welcome our guests with our iconic “Count on Me” service culture. Famous for its historical and cultural landmarks, Amagasaki offers guests an escape from city life and boundless opportunities to dine, wine and unwind in its famed onsens,” said Joon Aun Ooi, President, Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

One of 24 brands in Wyndham’s global brand portfolio, Ramada Encore by Wyndham is renowned for its vibrancy, energy, and approachability. Uniquely designed to meet the modern travellers’ needs to connect, each Ramada Encore by Wyndham property comes with well-designed rooms and multi-functional common areas that can serve as a lobby, reception, restaurant, and bar where guests can relax, refresh, connect and enjoy every minute of their stay.

Located less than 30 minutes from Osaka, and within walking distance to the Amagasaki and Hanshin train stations, the property already is an affordable and attractive option for international business travellers and domestic visitors alike, many of whom come to see the beloved Hanshin Tigers baseball team play at Koshien Stadium. Other nearby tourist attractions include: a popular playground called KidZania, Universal Studios Japan, and Kobe, the third-largest port city in Japan after Tokyo and Yokohama. For years, locals have regularly frequented the hotel’s traditional Japanese Izakaya restaurant A-Un, which will remain a distinctive feature.

“Adding the Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki to our portfolio of managed properties in Japan will help us to add value to more people from across the country and around the world at a time when consumer confidence – as well as curiosity about destinations that are a bit off the beaten path – are growing,” said Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director International Operations, Wyndham Destinations.

In the coming months, the Wyndham Destinations Japan team will elevate the entire end-to-end experience further, renovating and modernising the common areas and guest rooms, and more. Wyndham Destinations is a preferred development partner in Asia Pacific.

Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki participates in Wyndham Rewards®, the award-winning hotel loyalty programme offering approximately 101 million enrolled members the opportunity to redeem points at thousands of hotels, vacation club resorts and vacation rentals globally.
