June 14, 2023, London – Zien Group, the parent corporate company of Eden Hotels has unveiled its first hotel under an all-new brand of independent hotels with the debut of Jan Luyken Amsterdam: a boutique townhouse hotel in the heart of Amsterdam.
Following a multimillion-pound investment, Zien Group has transformed the historic 62-bedroom townhouse into a space where guests can make themselves at home and use the spaces for rest, work and play. The ethos and design encourage guests to enjoy Jan Luyken and its spaces as if they were their own, with everything they need included.
CEO of Zien Group, Billy Skelli-Cohen said: “This is an exciting time for our team as Zien Group reopens its first property outside of the Eden Hotels portfolio. We are continuing to unlock potential in our portfolio by reimagining some of our hotels while looking for growth opportunities throughout Europe”.
Jan Luyken is located where the Museum Quarter meets Amsterdam’s most elegant shopping street (The PC). Inspired by the vibrancy of the city and Dutch craftsmanship, the welcoming interiors of the ground floor communal spaces have been created by Amsterdam based interior design studio: Nicemakers.
Sitting in the heart of the townhouse is the library which overlooks a private house garden where guests can relax al fresco. In a nod to the nearby Rijksmuseum – the national museum of The Netherlands dedicated to Dutch arts and history – a large selection of art books lines the shelves.
The townhouse’s kitchen offers a relaxed, open-plan space to use throughout the day, just like at home. Breakfast favourites include the best of local, seasonal produce and artisanal pastries. Home-made snacks and refreshments are also available throughout the day.
A cork walled home gym with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the garden features handcrafted wooden gym equipment from NOHrD.
Bedrooms offer a variety of sizes and styles, including snug, snug single, small, medium, and studio. In particular, the studio room has its own private entrance. All the rooms at Jan Luyken feature neutral soft furnishings made in Amsterdam from Elle-La and Dutch designer Bonnie Barlag, stylish drip coffee makers and CODAGE amenities in modern bathrooms.
By incorporating the efficiency of mobile check-in and the convenience of a digital key, the need for a traditional ‘check-in’ experience is removed, enabling house hosts to welcome guests in a manner that resembles the warm and relaxing reception received when visiting a friend’s home.
House hosts are always on hand to assist guests, share local knowledge and ensure the best stay experience. An overnight stay at Jan Luyken starts from 245 euros per person.
