STR: Berlin Hotels Post Best Performance Since Late 2019

LONDON—Berlin’s hotel industry reported its highest monthly occupancy and room rates since late 2019, according to preliminary May 2022 data from STR. Occupancy: 77.9% Average daily rate (ADR): EUR114.19 Revenue per available room (RevPAR): EUR88.90 The absolute occupancy level was the highest in the market since November 2019 but still came in 6.7% lower than the pre-pandemic comparable (May 2019). STR: Berlin Hotel Performance Fell Lower in January

LONDON — February 15, 2022 — With tight pandemic restrictions, Berlin’s hotel industry reported lower performance than months prior, according to preliminary January 2022 data from STR. Occupancy: 28.2% Average daily rate (ADR): EUR75.85 Revenue per available room (RevPAR): EUR21.41 The occupancy level was the lowest in the market since June 2021, while ADR was the lowest since July 2021. Daily data shows Berlin’s hotel occupancy came in at 38.7% on New Year’s Day, substantially lower than occupancy recorded on the same day in 2020 (75.3%) and 2019 (68.8%). LONDON — October 12, 2021 — Berlin’s hotel industry reported its second-best occupancy and highest room rates of the pandemic-era, according to preliminary September 2021 data from STR. Occupancy: 61.3% Average daily rate (ADR): EUR95.01 Revenue per available room (RevPAR): EUR58.20 The absolute ADR level was the highest in Berlin since March 2020, while RevPAR was the highest since February 2020. LONDON — August 13, 2021 — STR’s preliminary July 2021 data shows Berlin with its highest performance levels since the start of the pandemic. Occupancy: 48.5% Average daily rate (ADR): EUR75.80 Revenue per available room (RevPAR): EUR36.76 The absolute occupancy and RevPAR levels were the highest for any month in Berlin since February 2020, while the ADR level was the highest since October 2020.
