CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA: Boar’s Head Resort and the University of Virginia Foundation announced today the appointment of Gigi Vega as general manager effective Aug. 14. Vega, who has amassed more than three decades of hospitality experience over her career that spans the globe, comes to Charlottesville from San Francisco, where she was the general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero. CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA: Dec. 14, 2022 – With more than 40 years under his belt, Jerome Ix, the longtime bellman for Boar’s Head Resort, is stepping into retirement. Ix has been a fixture at the resort since 1981, and his last day will be Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022. Prior to Ix’s arrival at Boar’s Head, he worked a short stint as a dishwasher at Farmington Country Club, tended to the now defunct local ice rink in town and pumped gas at a fuel station where Bellaire Market currently resides. CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, February 20, 2020 – Boar’s Head Resort welcomes two new members of the leadership team with the promotion of Executive Chef Paul D’Amelio and the new hiring of Director of Sales Mark White. Executive Chef D’Amelio was promoted from Chef de Cuisine of The Mill Room while White joins the team from another resort. D’Amelio joined the culinary team at Boar’s Head in August 2018 and was promoted to Executed Chef in December 2019.
