Airfares have turned higher, and airline stocks are now outperforming the broader market. That improvement was one reason why American Airlines lifted its full-year profit forecast. It led to a surprise third-quarter profit at Southwest Airlines and has put Delta Air Lines on track to deliver one of the most profitable fourth quarters in its history. By David Shepardson WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Delta Air Lines on Friday sued cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike in a Georgia state court after a global outage in July caused mass flight cancellations, disrupted travel plans of 1.3 million customers and cost the carrier more than $500 million. Delta's lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court called the faulty software update from CrowdStrike "catastrophic" and said the firm "forced untested and faulty updates to its customers, causing more than 8.5 million Microsoft Windows-based computers around the world to crash." Delta to Pause Flights Between New York and Tel Aviv Through March

October 16, 2024 - Delta Air Lines said on Tuesday it will pause its flights between New York's JFK airport and Tel Aviv through March, due to escalating conflict and safety concerns in Israel. The airline said it has issued a travel waiver for all customers who were booked on its flights to travel to and from Tel Aviv before March 31, 2025. It had earlier suspended flights to Tel Aviv through the end of 2024.
