Miami and Dubai Led the World in Hotel Profit Recovery in 2021

LONDON — February 7, 2022 — Miami and Dubai led the major global markets in hotel profit recovery for 2021, according to STR‘s full-year P&L data release. LONDON — December 7, 2021 — Estimated Dubai gross operating profit per available room (GOPPAR) for October 2021 came in at 159% of the 2019 comparable, according to STR‘s latest monthly P&L data release. LONDON — October 4, 2021 — The hotel industries in Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Moscow and Paris each reported improved profitability, but all remained well below pre-pandemic levels, according to STR‘s August 2021 monthly P&L data release. HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee — September 30, 2021 — With the end of the summer travel surge, estimated gross operating profit for U.S. hotels came in lower than the previous month, according to STR‘s August 2021 monthly P&L data release. August GOP was lower on a per-available-room basis as well as when indexed to the comparable month from 2019. Estimated GOP was 111% of 2019 levels in July but just 94% in August. HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee — September 1, 2021 — Estimated U.S. hotel gross operating profit for July 2021 came in at 111% of the 2019 comparable, according to STR‘s latest monthly P&L data release. ATLANTA — May 11, 2021 — Underpinned by stronger-than-expected demand during Q1, STR and Tourism Economics upgraded the latest U.S. hotel forecast just released at the Hunter Hotel Investment Conference. BROOMFIELD, Colorado — May 4, 2021 — Total revenue for U.S. hotels reached 50% of the comparable 2019 level, according to STR‘s March 2021 monthly P&L data release.
