2017 Visitation Estimates, Country Profiles and Spending Available

The National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) has completed posting of the 2017 states, cities, regions visited by overseas travelers and profiles to the website on the Inbound Travel to the U.S. page. NTTO's page contains 24 country profiles, 10 regional profiles and eight sector/activity profiles for 2017, containing characteristics based on SIAT passenger responses and visitor spending reports. Record-Setting U.S. Travel and Tourism Exports Total $21 Billion in October

WASHINGTON - Acting Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Ken Hyatt today announced that international visitors spent more than $21 billion on travel to, and tourism-related activities within, the United States in October, an increase of more than two percent ($493 million) when compared to October 2015. The U.S. Department of Commerce today announced that 4.9 million international visitors(1)(2)(3)(4) traveled to the United States in February 2016, down slightly (-0.3%) from February 2015. February broke the streak of five straight monthly increases in total U.S. visits with this decline. In February 2016, the top inbound markets continued to be Canada and Mexico. Non-resident visits from Canada declined 13 percent while visits from Mexico increased three percent. Leisure Travel and Visiting Friends/Relatives Lead the Growth in Travel from Overseas to the United States The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Travel & Tourism Office (NTTO), today announced the results of its 2015 Survey of International Air Travelers (SIAT).
