March 17, 2021 - Phocuswright founder Philip Wolf died yesterday following a brief illness. He was 64. Wolf, a champion of online travel since the late-1980s, launched Phocuswright, the internet travel research authority, in 1994. After graduating Duke University with a BA in Public Policy Studies and Vanderbilt University with an MBA, cutting his teeth as assistant to the CEO of a New York Stock Exchange retailer and working in the lamp manufacturing business, he entered the travel industry in 1989, as the head of a small agency inside Travelmation.
