LOS ANGELES, CA (January 14, 2020) Luxury lifestyle brand Proper Hospitality, that designs, brands and operates hotels and residences, has named industry veteran Blake Danner as the new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Danner will oversee business strategy, organizational growth and development, and day-to-day operations within the Proper portfolio, which includes properties in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Austin, and later this year, Downtown Los Angeles.

During his more than 25 years in hospitality, Danner worked with some of the world’s leading lifestyle visionaries and created award-winning new brands. Prior to joining Proper Hospitality, Danner most recently served as COO for Sydell Group, helping to create revolutionary hotel brands such as NoMad, The Line and Freehand. While with Sydell Group, he oversaw tremendous growth of the company, opening 11 hotels in just seven years. Additionally, Danner spent nearly a decade working for legendary hotelier and developer Ian Schrager as the Senior Vice President of Sales at Ian Schrager Hotels/Morgans Hotel Group. Danner has also been named one of HSMAI’s “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Sales and Marketing Minds.”
