Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island is pleased to welcome Adriaan Radder as General Manager of the award-winning resort. In his new role, Adriaan is responsible for the successful execution of all aspects of the resort’s sales, marketing, financial and operations.
Adriaan joins Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island from his most recent position as General Manager for Mandarin Oriental in Washington D.C, a Forbes Four Star, AAA Four-Diamond hotel. There, he provided leadership support during a multi-million dollar renovation and successfully increased market and guest satisfaction score. Adriaan’s previous experience in hospitality and luxury hotels spans more than 30 years, encompassing a wealth of experience including roles as Senior Vice President and General Manager of One&Only Ocean Club, a top tier resort in the Bahamas and Vice President and Area General Manager for Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Washington D.C.. Adriaan also spent time working for global brands including Mandarin Oriental, Luxury Collection, and Kerzner Hotel Group and has held seven general management positions spanning three continents.
Originally from Holland, Radder studied at the Hogere Hotel School in The Netherlands before relocating to the United States where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in International Hospitality Management from Florida International University.
Adriaan is married to his wife Kim and they have two adult children, both residing in Virginia. Their English Springer Spaniel, Beau, rounds out their family. When not working, Adriaan enjoys time on the water either sailing or fishing, making Hilton Head Island the perfect destination for his next venture.
