NEWPORT, R.I. – April 6, 2022 – The Chanler at Cliff Walk has named Christopher Roberts as Director of Food and Beverage. Christopher joins the team with 20 years of hospitality experience and extensive travel throughout the world. Christopher’s love and appreciation for new cultures are only rivaled by his passion for New England’s thriving food scene.
“We are thrilled to welcome Christopher to our Food and Beverage department,” said Lani Shufelt, Proprietress. “He possesses a genuine sense of hospitality, strong leadership skills, and we are looking forward to watching the front-of-house team grow with Christopher at the helm.”
Christopher assumed the role in January of this year where he is currently managing day-to-day operations for both The Café and Cara restaurant as well as the property’s multiple food and beverage outlets.

Prior to his role at The Chanler, Christopher was the Restaurant General Manager of Rocks 21 located inside the Inn at Mystic, Food and Beverage Director of The Spicer Mansion, and Innkeeper/ Restaurant Manager at The Inn at Dos Brisas.
In his free time, Christopher enjoys going to the beach with his wife Nicole and their three children.
