Atlanta, Ga. – Aug. 31, 2023 – The Kimpton Overland Hotel, along with its two dining venues, APRON and The Rooftop at the Overland, is excited to announce Damon Cundiff as its new executive chef.
South Carolina native Damon Cundiff brings more than 26 years of hospitality experience to his new role as Executive Chef at the Kimpton Overland Hotel. Growing up watching his family gather and cook, Cundiff became fascinated with how meals brought people together, which ultimately led him to pursue a culinary education at the Culinary Institute of America and the International Culinary Arts Institute.
Throughout his career, Cundiff has been guided by the philosophy of letting the food speak for itself. After serving in the Air Force, Cundiff’s culinary career includes the Club Corp Golf Clubs, Meehan’s Public House at Atlantic Station, Katerworks Hospitality & Consulting, Legends Hospitality and, most recently, Bon Appétit at Savannah College of Art and Design.
In 2023, Cundiff joined the Kimpton Overland to become the Executive Chef, where he now oversees daily operations and menu ideation for APRON and The Rooftop. In his role, Cundiff is looking forward to creating and experimenting with iconic southern flavors and letting his great family staple recipes inspire the new menu.
When Cundiff is not in the kitchen, he can be found enjoying time with his wife and three boys in Stone Mountain, Georgia, watching sports, practicing magic and barbecuing for friends and family.
