Matthew Swisher will serve as GM (aka ‘Captain’), Katie Moermond as Director of Sales and Hannah Timm named Director of Food and Beverage
Boulder, CO – May 20. 2024 – Vision Hospitality Group announced today the leadership team for the Moxy Boulder, the highly anticipated new hotel slated to open in May 2024 on “University Hill” near the CU Boulder campus. Matthew Swisher will serve as General Manager (known as “the Captain” at Moxy Hotels), Katie Moermond will serve as Director of Sales, and Hannah Timm will serve as Director of Food and Beverage for the property. All three are long-time industry veterans with experience working with top hotel and hospitality brands and are committed to making the Moxy Boulder a destination for funseekers everywhere that embraces the lively spirit of Boulder, Colorado.

Matthew Swisher will serve as the “Captain” of the property and was most recently the assistant GM at The Jacquard Hotel in Denver where he effectively led hotel operations focusing on leadership, recruitment, development, and mentorship with $27 million in annual revenues. He also served as Assistant Manager at the Art a Hotel, Curio Collection, where he implemented key property activations driving incremental revenue, and total hotel engagement.

Katie Moermond has 18 years of experience in the industry and started her career working with both the Marriott and Hilton brands in Cincinnati, Ohio. She relocated to Colorado, taking a position with Aimbridge Hospitality in 2019 where she served as Area Director of Sales for a newly opened property near DEN and oversaw several properties in Denver, Seattle, San Jose and Nashville. From there she joined the team at the Moxy Denver Cherry Creek in 2022 with Sage Hospitality as Director of Sales making this new role at the Moxy Boulder a natural next step.

Hannah Timm will serve as the Director of Food and Beverage and is a highly motivated senior hospitality leader with 12 years of experience in restaurant and hospitality management including 10 new restaurant openings. She has worked for industry leaders like Four Seasons, Montage International and Fox Restaurant Concepts in her tenure, leading teams to exceed customer service goals by enhancing guest experience and lifetime value metrics.

The Moxy Boulder will mark the first hotel to open in Boulder since 2018. Moxy Hotels, a part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Distinctive Select portfolio, offer a playful hotel experience that steps outside of a conventional hotel stay and promotes a social center to both locals and adventure seeking travelers. Located at 1253 Pleasant Street, Moxy Boulder is strategically situated directly across from the University of Colorado to act as a vibrant hub for the city of Boulder and university community. It will offer 189 thoughtfully designed rooms featuring over 5,300 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an active lobby which will feature a Moxy Bar and lounge area where hotel guests are greeted with a ‘Got Moxy’ cocktail or mocktail at check-in and food offerings partnered with the Culinary Creative Group. The property features an incredible walk-through courtyard open to the public, featuring 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Anchored by Michelin Bib-Gourmand award winner Mister Oso and Aviano Coffee. The outdoor lounge spaces will have fire pits, and comfortable seating, creating a perfect setting for guests to relax and unwind. The hotel will be managed by Vision Hospitality Group of Chattanooga, TN.
