Talented chef brings Italian roots and Michelin-starred experience to Ristorante Cavour and Bar Malatesta

March 22, 2016 (Houston, Texas) – Hotel Granduca Houston announces Enrico Glaudo as its new Executive Chef. A global and prodigiously talented culinarian with more than 35 years of experience, Glaudo leads all dining operations at the crown jewel of the Granduca Hotels hospitality group. In his new role, Glaudo's responsibilities include menu creation for Ristorante Cavour, Bar Malatesta and in-room dining service, as well as banqueting for meetings and special events clientele.

"Hotel Granduca Houston extends a warm welcome to Chef Glaudo. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise, perfectly complementing our team of passionate hospitality professionals," said Martin Nicholson, General Manager. "Chef Glaudo's creativity and operational know-how will enhance our guests' culinary experience and ensure that Ristorante Cavour continues to be Houston's top destination for masterful Italian fare."

Glaudo joins Hotel Granduca Houston from Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California, where he served as Outlet Manager. During his tenure, he oversaw the hotel's restaurant, room service and café. He also designed new menus, developed a training program for new employees, and assisted with payroll and scheduling. Glaudo's hotel experience also includes acting as Executive Sous Chef at Mr. C Beverly Hills, which is also located in Los Angeles, California.

With experience in owning, operating and managing high-end restaurants in the United States and Europe, Glauco was recruited by restaurateur Franco Simplicio to lead the kitchen at Sunset Restaurant in Malibu, California, in 2013. During his time there, Glauco was instrumental in introducing a new Mediterranean-influenced seafood bar. Prior to that, Glaudo owned his own restaurant, Frascati Ristorante, in Los Angeles, California. As chef and owner, he oversaw ingredient procurement, staff, and creating daily and seasonal menus and wine specials. His experience is rounded out by leadership positions at Santa Monica's Locanda del Lago; L'angolo Ristorante in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Antica Osteria del Ponte in Cassinetta de Lugagnano, Italy; and Michelin-starred Locanda dell'Angelo in Bergamo, Italy.

Glaudo earned his culinary degree from Istituto Professionale Alberghiero in Ceres, Italy and relocated to the United States in 1990 at the behest of famed restaurateur Piero Selvaggio of Valentino, who hired him as Executive Chef at one of his venues. Born and raised in Ivrea, Piedmont, Italy, Glaudo now resides in Houston, Texas, where he enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his passion for photography.
