GRAND RAPIDS, MI – January 20, 2021 – AHC Hospitality announces the promotion of Ross Bartlett to regional general manager of the historic Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton in downtown Grand Rapids’ Hotel District. Most recently serving as the assistant general manager at the historic hotel, Bartlett will continue to provide day-to-day leadership for the property in his expanded role, as well as lead AHC’s newest project, the city’s extended-stay, pet-friendly Morton Hotel, and oversee the security and parking departments for AHC Hospitality.

“Ross’s dedication to AHC Hospitality and his passion for our industry has been abundantly apparent over the past five years,” said George Aquino, vice president and managing director of AHC Hospitality. “We are confident in his leadership ability during these unpredictable times, and his proven track record will be key as AHC continues to expand.”

Ross began his tenure with AHC Hospitality in January 2016 as the director of rooms for the Amway Grand Plaza and was promoted to assistant general manager in early 2019 to support overall hotel operations. Ross was recognized in 2018 as AHC Hospitality’s Operations Manager of the Year and has most recently led the Epsilon Class of the AHC Leadership Academy.

“2021 will be a momentous year for the hospitality industry and for the Amway Grand Plaza, from the opening of the modern Spanish restaurant MDRD to the completion of the hotel’s iconic glass tower,” said Bartlett. “Having developed my career with AHC Hospitality since 2016, I’m also looking forward to leveraging my experience to open AHC’s newest property, the modern, residential-style and pet-friendly Morton Hotel.”

A graduate of Michigan State University, Bartlett received a degree in hospitality business and also holds an executive certificate in hospitality & tourism management from Florida Atlantic University. In 2018, he was recognized by Hotel Management Magazine on its annual 30 Under 30, The Hotel Industry’s Top Rising Stars list. Bartlett currently serves on the board of directors for the Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan, the School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University and Real Men Wear Pink for the American Cancer Society.
