Conshohocken, PA (September 19, 2024) — Hotel West & Main is proud to announce the appointment of Chef Edward Hancock, who will take the lead as Executive Chef of all culinary operations on property, including at the hotel’s all-day lounge and lobby bar, 1874 Social, and Hook and Ladder Sky Bar & Kitchen, the laid-back restaurant and sky bar offering globally inspired tastes, bold spirits, and a lively ambiance on the hotel’s second floor, in addition to leading the hotel’s special events and meetings culinary program.
Chef Edward Hancock joins Hotel West & Main with over 33 years of experience working in hotel kitchens, coming from the Sofitel Philadelphia, where he led the culinary team for nearly eight years, establishing a reputation for excellence, driven by a commitment to using only the finest ingredients, such as local farm cheeses and produce. During his tenure, Chef Ed also implemented a rooftop garden and beehive for seasonal honey and produce at the hotel, while assembling a team of top-tier culinary talent. Chef Ed started his career in restaurants such as Jakes in Manayunk, where he won the exclusive La Chaine des Rotisseur dinner of the year and was awarded 3 bells by Craig Leban. Chef Ed then moved on to larger venues such as Normandy Farm Hotel and Conference Center, where he honed his banquet skills as a Pastry Chef and Executive Chef.

He is dedicated to ensuring his kitchens remain at the forefront of the area’s dining scene by constantly seeking out emerging talent to elevate his team and take his culinary offerings to new heights, and he is excited to bring this vision and his talent to Hotel West & Main.

Hancock attended Delaware Valley College and studied Food Science and also attended the Philadelphia Restaurant School.
