FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., JULY 9, 2024— CoralTree Hospitality announces the appointment of Pier Sixty-Six’s leadership team, marking a significant milestone for the centerpiece of a $1 billion redevelopment project by Tavistock Development Company. Following a property-wide transformation, the iconic Fort Lauderdale establishment has embarked on a new chapter set to open in the fall of 2024 as a 32-acre waterfront resort complex along the Intracoastal Waterway.

Colm O’Callaghan joins Pier Sixty-Six as the resort’s Vice President and Managing Director, bringing extensive experience from a distinguished career in luxury hospitality. His background includes pivotal roles at leading brands such as The Peninsula Hotels, Conrad Hotel and Resorts, Trump Hotels and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, where he was instrumental in launching and elevating renowned properties to 5-star, 5-diamond status. O’Callaghan’s expertise and leadership are set to transform Pier Sixty-Six, enhancing its reputation and positioning it as a premier destination in the luxury hospitality industry.

“I am honored to be part of such a significant new chapter for Fort Lauderdale’s luxury hospitality scene. The opening of Pier Sixty-Six will usher in a new era for the destination, and our leadership team is committed to building upon the resort’s storied history while setting new 5-star standards, fostering a culture of exceptional service, and creating unforgettable moments for our guests that begins on the day our doors open,” said O’Callaghan.

Joining O’Callaghan at Pier Sixty-Six is Kevin Ives, who takes on the role of Hotel Manager. Ives brings with him an extensive and proven track record of success, including project managing the renovation of 14 food and beverage outlets, serving as Chef de Cuisine at the renowned Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach and helping to spearhead the relaunch and rebranding of The Boca Raton and Boca Beach Club in Florida. His contributions were significant in the first-time acquisition of Forbes 5-star and 4-star ratings for The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island and Boca Beach Club. Ives’s expertise is instrumental in enhancing Pier Sixty-Six’s competitive market advantage and elevating both brand recognition and guest experiences to new heights.

The resort also appointed its Executive Director of Food & Beverage, Frank Serindat, who joins the team with substantial expertise in the culinary space. Serindat’s experience includes overseeing food and beverage venues at 5-star properties such as Montage Laguna Beach, Rosewood Miramar Beach and Faena Miami. His addition to the team further solidifies Pier Sixty-Six’s dedication to delivering a premier gastronomic experience with 12 culinary venues, including signature waterfront restaurants and the iconic 17th-floor rotating Pier Top lounge—admired for decades as the only 360-degree observation deck offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Each venue features coastal-inspired creations paired flawlessly with world-class wines and cocktails crafted by Florida’s top mixologists.

A striking icon in Fort Lauderdale’s skyline for more than sixty years, the resort is being meticulously redeveloped as a luxury destination nestled amid the “Yachting Capital of the World.” Accepting reservations for stays beginning January 1, 2025, Pier Sixty-Six will open with 325 rooms and suites, most featuring scenic outdoor balconies with waterfront views. The expansive grounds offer a seamless blend of aquatic recreations, one of the largest superyacht marinas on the eastern seaboard and world-class relaxation at the prestigious 13,000 square-foot spa, dynamic multi-level pool and 12 distinguished culinary venues, including signature restaurants along the waterfront promenade.
