BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. and MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and Kingsley Hospitality, LLC today announced the signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Detroit Bloomfield Hills. Formally the historic Kingsley Inn, the 147-room hotel will undergo a $10 million revitalization this fall and will feature a full-service restaurant, indoor pool and 11,396 square feet of flexible meeting space. Hotel Investment Services, Inc. will operate the hotel, which is expected to open in fall 2017.

Originally built in 1958, the hotel is located in one of Michigan's most affluent residential communities. Known as a financial hub for southeast Michigan, the Bloomfield Hills area is home to numerous Fortune 500 companies, including Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Google, and Volkswagen of America. Business travelers will find themselves conveniently located near Detroit, Troy, Birmingham, Southfield and Pontiac. Less than two miles south of the hotel, guests can enjoy the charm of downtown Birmingham with unique walkable shopping and plenty of restaurants, lounges and entertainment. Designed by Neumann/Smith Architecture, the hotel's exterior renovation will offer an elegant and contemporary design that will blend in seamlessly with the surroundings of Bloomfield Hills. The interior's overall color palette will feature a neutral base of gray tones accented with custom artwork representing the region and specialty lighting elements to create a welcoming atmosphere. The state-of-the-art guestrooms will feature stylish, sophisticated furnishings, upgraded amenities, and the most up-to-date technology.

For business and social events, the hotel's 11,396 square feet of flexible meeting space includes two ballrooms and spacious pre-function areas to serve as the perfect setting for breakout meetings, private lunches, or cocktails. The Grand Ballroom features a spacious dance floor and the Bloomfield Ballroom can be divided into three separate areas approximately 1,000 sq. ft. each.
