Beverly Hills, September 7, 2023 – Chef Ashley James has been appointed Culinary Director of the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, overseeing the entire culinary operation including all restaurants, banquets and in-room dining.
Chef Ashley James brings a wealth of expertise to the position, with more than 30 years cooking in prestigious kitchens throughout the world including positions in England, France, Spain, Singapore, Mexico, Germany, Argentina, and the United States. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Culinary at Di Bruno Bros, Philadelphia, PA. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Culinary Starr Catering Group. He spent 18 years with the Four Seasons brand on the corporate task force and working across multiple properties such as Executive Chef at Four Seasons Hotel, Los Angeles, Regional Executive Chef of Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Four Seasons Resort Carmelo, Uruguay, and Executive Sous Chef of Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico.

Chef Ashley studied at Staffordshire College of Food and Domestic Arts and attended CIVBG Wine School in Bordeaux, France. He has been published in multiple cookbooks and media outlets, as well as having hosted an award-winning PBS television series, Cuisine Culture. Classically trained in France and England, Ashley has cooked in several Michelin-Starred restaurants including the famed Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower.
