Sedona, Ariz. (Oct. 30, 2024) – Today, Enchantment Resort announced the hiring of Chef Matias Caceres as executive chef of Che Ah Chi and Tii Gavo. With nearly 15 years of fine dining and luxury resort experience, Chef Caceres first began his culinary career in the United States in 2010 after arriving from Argentina.
Chef Matias Caceres began his culinary journey in the United States in 2010, arriving from Argentina with a passion for cooking and a determination to excel. His career took root in San Diego at The Wild Thyme Catering Company, where he started as a Prep Cook under the guidance of Chef Julie Weiss. Here, Matias honed his skills and displayed a natural talent for the culinary arts.
Eager to expand his experience into large-scale food and beverage programs, Matias transitioned to the hotel industry. He joined the team at Loews Coronado Bay Resort, working in the Banquets department under Chef Jose Sandoval. This role fueled his ambition, and he soon moved on to InterContinental San Diego, where he trained under Chef Paul McCabe at the fine dining establishment, Vistal Bar + Restaurant.
Matias’s expertise continued to grow, and he was soon entrusted with a leadership role at the newly renovated Town & Country Resort. As Culinary Supervisor under Chef John Shelton, he managed several large-scale events, including those serving over 1,500 guests per meal period. His success in these high-pressure environments led to his recruitment by The Rancho Bernardo Inn, where he took on the role of Banquet Sous Chef, excelling in their Banquets and Events program.
Chef Matias’s dedication, creativity, and leadership earned him the title of Rancho Bernardo Inn’s Emerging Leader of 2023, setting the stage for his current position as Chef Tournant, where he oversees culinary operations across the entire property.
