Cloud-based Property Management System Leads in Innovation
ALPHARETTA, GA. — January 31, 2018 — Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading global provider of next-generation hospitality software solutions and services, today announced that facial recognition has been added as one of the innovative capabilities of their rGuest® Stay PMS solution to help streamline operations and deliver an improved guest experience. Built on the rGuest hospitality platform, the property management system is a native cloud-based solution that delivers innovations in guest service, property operations and 3rd party integrations.
Facial recognition is among the newest capabilities of next-generation PMS solutions. With rGuest Stay, the face of a returning guest can be digitally recognized as they approach the front desk, and the system will display their profile information to the agent, allowing the employee to provide a personalized welcome and improved guest service. The system can show any information saved about the recognized guest, including room preferences, arrival and departure time, and much more. The facial recognition feature is optional and can be easily enabled or disabled as appropriate.
rGuest Stay is an innovative web-based property management system built using the revolutionary Agilysys rGuest hospitality platform. The guest-centric PMS leverages the standards-based platform on an open architecture with public APIs to enable rich integration with applications delivered from Agilysys, its partners and customers. rGuest Stay offers powerful capabilities for multi-property operations, allowing managers to view guest profiles, history and reservations, as well as room availability and operational reports, seamlessly across multiple properties.
Facial recognition is just one of many innovative features found in rGuest Stay. The PMS is also capable of working with custom voice-controlled artificial intelligence assistants such as Amazon Echo’s Alexa. The digital assistant can answer questions about operational status and provide other information that is in the rGuest Stay system. Since rGuest Stay is completely API-based, it is easily accessible by the digital assistant, and has potential for easy integration with any future technologies.
“rGuest Stay is a next-generation solution that goes beyond traditional property management systems in many ways,” said Larry Steinberg, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Technology at Agilysys. “The open, multi-functional rGuest platform enables operators to manage and grow their businesses through an easily addressable cloud-based architecture. rGuest Stay enables properties to move towards a more guest-centric and streamlined operation, resulting in improved profitability and increased guest loyalty.”
