September 25, 2024 (San Antonio, TX) – Hotel Emma at Pearl is excited to announce the appointment of Chef Geronimo Lopez as its new Executive Chef, starting Monday, September 23rd. With an impressive culinary background and a passion for innovative cuisine, Chef Lopez brings a wealth of experience and talent to Hotel Emma.

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Chef Lopez is the former owner and chef behind Botika in San Antonio, where he garnered numerous awards and accolades. Most recently, Chef Lopez was selected by The James Beard Foundation for their “Taste America” program. Through Taste America’s TasteTwenty, the Foundation recognizes some of the industry’s finest talent and changemakers—known for demonstrating culinary excellence, as well as their impact uniquely leading the industry forward on and off the plate.

Having worked in culinary & management positions at luxury hotels and resorts in Ljubljana-Slovenia, Dubrovnik-Croatia, Puerto Vallarta-Mexico, Kailua Kona-Hawaii, and several Michelin-Star establishments in France, Chef Lopez’s culinary journey has taken him around the globe. He has developed a unique approach to cooking that utilizes diverse flavor profiles and techniques.
