Rosewood Hotel Group, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, is pleased to welcome Jay Wetzel back to the Group in the role of vice president of food and beverage, Americas. In this position, Jay will be responsible for managing all current food and beverage operations in the region, as well as the development of new and evolving programs with an emphasis on creativity and innovation.
Jay boasts more than 25 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, having served in prestigious positions at some of the most renowned restaurants and hotels across the globe. Jay returns to Rosewood Hotel Group following a three-year tenure with Virgin Hotels, where he served as vice president of food and beverage, creating and operating the food and beverage program. Prior to his time at Virgin Hotels, Jay spent six years with Rosewood Hotel Group, joining in 2011 as director of culinary operations in the Hong Kong office and ultimately growing to senior corporate director of food and beverage, where he led the development of food and beverage concepts, with a focus on expansion of operations in the Americas and Europe.

Jay began his career at the award-winning Michael Mina restaurant, AQUA in San Francisco for nearly eight years. Notably, Jay led two hotels, Kerry Hotel and the Park Hyatt Hotel, both located in Shanghai, through their grand openings as executive chef. Jay has also held positions at several Hyatt Hotels and MGM Resorts International properties across the globe, from New York to Tokyo to Singapore, assuming key leadership positions within the brands’ culinary teams.
