HOUSTON, TX – July 9, 2014 – Industry veteran Jeffrey Fuller has joined the Royal Sonesta Houston as General Manager. In this capacity, he now helms one of the Bayou City’s most exciting, new upscale hotel products. Fresh off a nearly $30-million renovation, the landmark, 485-room property features the largest meeting and event offering – 50,000 square feet – in the Galleria/Uptown area, a premier destination for group, leisure and business travel.
Prior to his appointment at the Royal Sonesta Houston, Fuller was employed by John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, he was the General Manager of the Embassy Suites Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center in South Carolina where he achieved the highest REVPAR increase in Embassy Suites’ Resort Division for 2013. Before that, Fuller was the General Manager of Embassy Suites DFW Airport North Outdoor World. Located in Dallas, TX, the property is of one only nine Embassy Suites with a AAA Four-Diamond ranking.
From 2006 until 2008, Fuller was the General Manager of the AAA Four-Diamond-rated Mansion on Forsyth Park, a KesslerCollection member encompassing a luxury, 126-room hotel, 13-unit bed and breakfast, full-service spa, cooking school and art gallery. While under his direction, the Savannah, GA property earned a spot on Conde Nast Traveler magazine’s coveted Gold List. From 2004 until 2006, Fuller was the General Manager of Charlotte, NC’s former Park Hotel, which he transitioned to Charlotte Marriott SouthPark by overseeing its sale.
Fuller began his career with Marriott International in 1977. During his nine years with the company, he held a variety of positions, including Marketing Director for the Houston Marriott West Loop by the Galleria and National Sales Director. He has also held long term positions with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, managing Sheraton and Marriott branded properties in Atlanta, GA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Toledo, OH, as well as Crestline Hotels & Resorts, where he served as a Regional Vice President/Operations and General Manager.
Fuller holds a B.A. from Michigan State University’s School of Hospitality Business.
