Four Seasons Hotel Denver has announced the appointment of Josh Fryer as the new Executive Chef for the Hotel and EDGE Restaurant & Bar. Fryer joins Four Seasons Hotel Denver from Four Seasons Resort Maui where he served as Executive Sous Chef.
Originally from a small town in West Virginia, Fryer embarked on his culinary journey after earning a bachelor’s degree in criminology from West Virginia University. He honed his skills at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute’s le Cordon Bleu program in Pittsburgh before starting his career at prestigious establishments such as PGA National Resort & Spa in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.
Fryer later joined the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta, where he served as chef de cuisine at AG Steakhouse. His journey with Four Seasons began in Atlanta as Banquet Chef, progressing to Chef de Cuisine, overseeing Bar Margot and in room dining. His passion for culinary excellence led him to open Tribeca Restaurant & Bar as executive chef and later serve as banquet chef at the Epicurean Hotel.
In January 2022, Fryer joined Four Seasons Resort Maui as Executive Sous Chef, where he successfully managed a team of 76 cooks and 8 culinary managers. His tenure in Maui was marked by innovative off-site events, bespoke banquet menus, and community initiatives such as the Dos Hombres Mexican Cantina and Love for Lahaina pop-up series. Following the Maui wildfires, Josh’s proactive approach ensured donated meals reached those in need through the Chef Hui organization, supporting displaced families and first responders.
“Josh brings a wealth of experience and culinary expertise to our exceptional team,” says Craig Dryhurst, Food & Beverage Director at Four Seasons Hotel Denver. “His leadership during challenging times, such as the Maui fires, demonstrated his commitment to community and team welfare. We are so excited to welcome Josh to our team.”
“I am thrilled to pursue this new opportunity and join this talented team,” says Fryer. “I look forward to bringing my talents and experience to EDGE Restaurant & Bar. Growing up in the mountains of West Virginia, it is inspiring to me that EDGE sources top quality cuts of steak from local ranches and farm-to-table produce.”
