FORT LAUDERDALE – Sept. 4, 2024 – Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa – an oceanfront resort situated on the destination’s largest stretch of privately owned beach – proudly announces the appointment of Mikey Termini as Executive Chef. In this role, Chef Mikey will utilize his experience, innovation, and enthusiasm to oversee all culinary operations across the property’s seven food and beverage outlets – including 3030 Ocean, Sea Level Restaurant and Ocean Bar, and Riva – along with in-room dining, high-volume event catering, and the associate cafeteria.
Chef Mikey joins Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort with 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having previously worked at well-respected hotels across the country. Most recently, he held the position of Executive Sous Chef at JW Marriott Marco Island Resort, having been promoted from Senior Sous Chef. Prior to that, he held Restaurant Chef and Sous Chef positions at three Four Seasons resorts nationwide – Orlando at Disney; Jackson Hole Wyoming; and Wailea in Maui. Termini brings with him additional experience appearing on season seven of Hell’s Kitchen; owning his own restaurant in Hawaii; and participating in the reality tv show cooking competition, Man vs Chef – emerging as the People’s Choice winner.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Chef Mikey and are confident that he will inspire our culinary team to reach new heights, leading to unforgettable dining experiences for our guests,” said Donelle Zunker, General Manager of Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort.
Much of Chef Mikey’s inspiration stems from Hawaii, where he began his career, and he continues to infuse the islands’ flavors and influence into the food he creates. Driven by curiosity, he’s focused on identifying new ways to present food to elevate the guest’s dining experience, and sourcing fresh, local ingredients as much as possible. He enjoys the challenge of discovering new ways to recreate dishes from his childhood and experimenting with unexpected flavor pairings to infuse creativity into his menus.
“I look forward to energizing the culinary team and inspiring them to uncover opportunities to ignite new thought processes and have fun with food,” said Chef Mikey. “The ultimate goal is to make guests’ time at the resort as enjoyable and memorable as possible to keep them captivated and coming back for more.”
