BLUFFTON, S.C. (October 6, 2022) – Montage Palmetto Bluff is pleased to announce the appointment of Shon Kendrick as executive chef. With nearly two decades of experience at luxury properties across the U.S., Kendrick will lead all culinary operations at the resort, nestled along the May River in Bluffton, South Carolina. In his new role, Kendrick will oversee all culinary operations, including the recently opened River House restaurant, in-room dining, private dining, and special events.

Prior to joining Montage Palmetto Bluff, Kendrick spent more than a decade in in Orlando, Florida, where most recently served as the resort executive chef at Walt Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, overseeing culinary operations for a fine-dining restaurant and an array of casual dining areas and lounges. Prior to that, Kendrick spent two years as area chef of Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, and five years at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, joining the resort as executive banquet chef and rising the ranks to executive sous chef.
Kendrick has also held hospitality roles that include executive banquet chef at Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington D.C.; chef de cuisine at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Maryland; and restaurant sous chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe in California. Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Kendrick began his culinary career in 2003 at The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay in Northern California, working with Xavier Salomon who today serves as executive chef of Montage Los Cabos and corporate executive chef of Montage International.
