All-Inclusive Caribbean Resorts Implement Eatec® Inventory and Procurement System
ALPHARETTA, GA. — June 26, 2017 — Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading global provider of next-generation hospitality software solutions and services, today announced that Sonesta Resorts St. Maarten and its management company The Maho Group have selected Agilysys Eatec® to manage inventory and procurement operations at three all-inclusive properties —Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort, Casino & Spa; Sonesta Ocean Point Resort; and Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa. The resorts are long-time users of the Agilysys Visual One® property management system.
The properties, which are popular destinations for weddings, corporate meetings and vacationing families, friends and couples, cater to a wide clientele and offer a variety of amenities. Guests can experience Sonesta Great Bay’s sweeping views and many dining options, Sonesta Ocean Point’s rooftop bars and swim-out suites, and Sonesta Maho Beach Resort’s kid-friendly activities. The management team wanted a comprehensive inventory and procurement system that would streamline ordering and inventory management, reduce costs and improve productivity. The Eatec solution met their criteria, with best-in-class features and functionality that will help food and beverage staff work smarter and more efficiently.
“We were immediately impressed by Eatec’s modular structure and uncomplicated user interface,” said Huub Lambooy, director of technology for The Maho Group. “The system, although quite advanced, is easy to learn and easy to use. With this technology in place, we expect to gain better control of food costs, both in pricing and yields, and make more intelligent purchasing decisions. Agilysys has been a great partner for us, so we didn’t hesitate to work with them again. We are confident the Eatec system will streamline our food and beverage operations and help ensure our properties’ competitiveness by allowing purchasing staff to focus on the strategic elements of the procurement process.”
Eatec is a full-featured inventory, procurement and production system designed specifically for the hospitality and foodservice industries. Along with its core purchasing, inventory, recipe, forecasting, production and sales analysis functions, the software also offers modules for catering, cycle planning, retail management, nutrition and allergens. The modular and scalable structure allows customers to construct the exact set of features they need — whether it is an enterprise-wide solution for multiple sites or a single-site system for multiple functions. Eatec is available as an on-premise or hosted solution.
"An automated inventory and procurement system is an essential tool for today’s demanding hotel and resort dining operations, where margins are tight and mistakes are costly," said Jim Walker, senior vice president of global revenue at Agilysys. "Eatec, with its customizable structure, will help Sonesta Resorts St. Maarten reduce food and labor costs, conserve resources and keep track of rapidly-changing inventory. We are excited to broaden our relationship with the properties and to continue our expansion in the all-inclusive Caribbean resort market.”
