TOLEDO,OH — March 9, 2020 — The Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel proudly announces the appointment of Chef Michael Rigot. A Nashville native, Rigot serves as the executive chef for the property’s marquee dining outlets, Brim House and The Heights. Rigot joins the hotel property following stints at Cypress Lodge and Rye Bar & Southern Kitchen, where he served as Executive Chef. Under his helm, Rigot’s new menus incorporate produce of Northwest Ohio, combined with the flavors of American Southern cuisine.
“Food and family have always held a special place in my heart,” says Rigot. “At Brim House and The Heights, we aim to invoke a sense of home, where guests can relax and enjoy their meal. Our team is excited to welcome everyone with our version of Midwestern hospitality.”
Rigot plans to champion his commitment to seasonality and responsible sourcing by hosting a series of Chef’s Table Dinners at Brim House. “Our goal is to cultivate strong relationships with sustainable purveyors to provide our guests with a connection to the land and an honest representation of local flavors and ingredients,” says Rigot.
Each dinner features a themed eight-course tasting menu celebrating local produce, specific regional cooking techniques, and unique local beers and spirits. Upcoming Chef’s Table Dinners include:
