HOT SPRINGS, VA (March 5, 2019) – The Omni Homestead Resort, a premier destination located across more than 2,000 scenic mountain acres, recently appointed John Hess as the new director, sales and marketing for the property. In his new role, Hess will lead the departments responsible for catering and convention service, marketing and communications, group sales, revenue management and resort membership in addition to being a member of the resort’s executive leadership committee.
Hess joins The Omni Homestead Resort with 22 years of operations, sales, marketing and multi-property leadership experience. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort where he stabilized team turnover, improved associate engagement scores and increased group sales revenues. Hess has also worked at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Wintergreen Resort and Omni Richmond Hotel after receiving a master’s in business administration from the University of Richmond.

In addition to the appointment of John Hess, The Omni Homestead Resort has continued to prioritize culinary offerings by expanding the team through a handful of culinary promotions and new hires. Culminating 20 years of culinary experience, Severin Nunn has recently been promoted to the director of food and beverage, where he oversees a team of 100 and leads the overall operations of the property’s multiple dining outlets. John Ferguson has been promoted to executive chef to assist Nunn in leading menu creation and catering events.
