President Tom Cancelmo is named CEO

WAYNE, Pa. – July 9, 2015 Boyd Tamney Cross, a leading hospitality marketing & communications firm, announces the appointment of Tom Cancelmo, the company’s president, to CEO, as well as its re-branding to BTC. For more than 30 years, BTC has specialized in serving high-end hospitality clients throughout the United States and Caribbean, from New England and the Mid-Atlantic region to Florida, California, and Aruba.

“We intend to build on our company’s legacy of creating and strengthening the brands of luxury resorts, urban and boutique hotels, historic properties, and others in the hospitality business,” said Cancelmo. Today, BTC drives predictable, repeatable results for an extraordinary group of properties, including Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, The Gasparilla Inn & Club, Mohonk Mountain House, Tucker’s Point, Primland, Basin Harbor Club, Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and others.

“Our business is results-driven creative, direct marketing, PR and digital communications, but clients choose BTC for our ability to be nimble, accessible and responsive,” said Cancelmo, a lifelong Philadelphian who spent more than 15 years in senior level positions with firms small and large, such as Foote Cone Belding before joining BTC in 2000.

Cancelmo added: “Our new tagline, ‘Align for Success,’ emphasizes our belief in working together with clients to align their needs and expectations with our expertise in order to achieve their business goals, whether it relates to meeting & group sales strategies or driving leisure revenues.”

The BTC re-branding included changes to the firm’s logo, website and other public-facing materials. BTC is also adding new talent to the team, including the addition of Chris Murray as executive vice president. Murray previously was vice president, communications and external affairs, at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Kathleen Burke, account director, brings two decades of experience working at NBC to her new role.
