HOUSTON, TX September 21, 2016—SHR, developer of the WindsurferCRS™ hotel reservation and distribution platform, today announced it has secured $20MM in growth capital to support its expansion in the U.S. and in Asia-Pacific.
On the eve of making the Inc. 5000 List for the fifth year in a row, SHR finds its style of doing business in high demand. The rapid growth over the past two years is indicative of hoteliers’ preference for an innovative CRS backed by a high level of intelligent support from a staff with hotel operations experience.
“We are very excited about the future of SHR. The new growth capital available to the company will help expand our efforts to improve the lives of hoteliers struggling to streamline the management of their distribution to maximize their revenue,” says Rod Jimenez, SHR’s CEO.
As part of its expansion plan, SHR’s Singapore Office is slated to open in October and will be hiring staff to support its growth in the Asia-Pac region. On the home front, the company is adding space to its Houston headquarters to accommodate another thirty staffers.
“Growth is spectacular for Sundial this year as we have exceeded budgeted forecasts by 22% in occupancy, 9 percent in REVPAR and 13 percent in Average Daily Rate since the implementation of the WindsurferCRS. It doesn’t surprise me that SHR is growing as rapidly. They provide a top tier distribution platform backed by unparalleled service, something their competitors struggle with,” says Brett Lindsay, Director of Sales & Marketing, Sundial Beach Resort & Spa.
“While the new capital will fund expansion, it will also fund the innovation this team is known for,” says Dayang Dai, SHR’s Chief Software Architect. SHR’s predecessors include Whiteboard Labs and before that, Webvertising, two companies known for their innovation. In fact, the WindsurferCRS is not the only CRS they’ve built. The company’s involvement with the hotel industry dates back to 1998.
